GPATS Horizon 2050 Long Range Transportation Plan

GPATS Horizon 2050 Long Range Transportation Plan

Project Overview

Horizon 2050 is the ten-year update to the Greenville-Pickens Area Transportation Study (GPATS) Long-Range Transportation Plan (LRTP). It is a 25-year plan for highway, transit, bicycle, and pedestrian projects in the GPATS coverage area. Every Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) is required to have an LRTP that is reviewed and updated over time. GPATS conducts a small review and update of the LRTP every five years and a major update every 10 years. The LRTP was most recently updated in 2022. The LRTP includes a fiscally constrained, prioritized list of transportation projects to be completed over the next 25 years, based on current funding levels.

Public involvement is essential for fully understanding a community’s transportation vision. Through two rounds of community outreach, the project team will work with the public to identify regional transportation needs and share potential projects or plans to address those needs. Opportunities will be provided for in-person and online feedback and comments.
